investment banking gets you the best when the investments are at control and at worst you land up being bankcrupt. Inspite of the fact that Lehmans has got the best of the brains but its over exposure and greed(you call it risk)lets you in escrow. For example facing the burnt in the US property market , most of the Investment Banks have squeezed their investment capital to a small amout, few of them parked in the Blue chip companies and technology which are safer bets ;incase if LEH bro it has continued to invest in the provert markets eg investments of $400mn in DLF $175mn in Unitech and many more ... Leh bro was one of the largest purchaser of bad loans along with the Star finance in US. The non recovery from both the ends has bleeded the corporation to death.
India is the most diverse space to see in both on the things.
